In October 2020, Kaskela Law filed a stockholder derivative complaint against certain current and former officers and directors of Altria Group, Inc. (“Altria”).  Case No. 20-cv-00772 (E.D. Va.).

Among other things, the complaint alleged that the members of Altria’s board of directors breached their fiduciary duties to the company and its stockholders in connection with Altria’s December 2018 investment in JUUL.

In February 2023, the Court approved of a proposed settlement of the action for $117 million.
